Instructions

  1. Soften yeast in water (let it sit until it bubbles).
  2. Combine scalded milk, sugar and salt, beat well.
  3. Beat in yeast and egg. I use my Kitchen Aid with the dough hook from start to finish.
  4. Gradually add in the flour.
  5. Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes with the dough hook at the correct kneading speed. The dough will be soft.
  6. Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with a wet dish towel (or your preferred method). Let it rise to double 1-2 hours.
  7. Pull small pieces of dough and form into very loose balls about the size of a large gumball.
  8. Mix pudding, brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  9. Dip each ball into the Crystal Light and then dip into the sugar/pudding mixture, covering completely.
  10. Place the finished ball into an 11×7 inch glass pan.
  11. Continue until pan is full, adding walnuts as you go. Do not layer.
  12. Pour melted butter over the top.
  13. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Make sure the middle is done.
  14. Turn dish over onto a plate and drizzle the confectionery powder mixture over the top.
  15. Let cool or not!
